6th Annual Appalachian Heritage Festival
Nearly 50 live demonstrations featuring the essence of life in Appalachia. Quilters, wood carvers, canoe builders and a live, working gem mining flume. Firetruck display and face painting for the kids, Music from guitar to dulcimer, banjo to flute and even piano. Checker tournament at the Macon County Historical Museum. Cowee School Arts and Heritage Center.  10 am - 4pm.
A celebration of Appalachian Heritage.  Come to the mountains of WNC for a day of FREE fun by participating in over 100 authentic mountain living exhibits inside the school and all around the campus. Entertainment is scheduled throughout the day and free shuttles run from Downtown Franklin to the school.  Sponsored by Folk Heritage Association of Macon Co and Cowee School Arts & Heritage Center.
