Area Info

Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, it’s no surprise that Franklin, North Carolina is surrounded by beautiful waterfalls to which you can hike or see from the roads. The American naturalist, William Bartram, was in awe when he visited the area on his trek along the Appalachian Trail and noted the beauty of the mountains and waterfalls. Just a few of the closest falls are Cullasaja Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Dry Falls and Glen Falls. Dry Falls was recently renovated to include a wooden walkway off the parking lot that can enable those in wheelchairs to view the beauty. If you like, you can reach the falls down several flights of steps and even walk behind the running falls. After a storm, it’s an awesome site to see! It’s a great experience loved by all!
