A visit to The Scottish Tartans Museum and Heritage Center, Inc. is a stroll through the history and culture of Scotland. Dr. Gordon Teall, Baron of Huntly, and the founder of the Scottish Tartan Society, founded the museum in 1988. It started in the city of Highlands and moved to the heart of Franklin in 1994. This one-of-a kind museum is the only one in the U.S. We are located here because of the fact that there are more people of Celtic heritage in North Carolina than any where else in the nation.
